I’m an exchange student that is going back to the states on December 14th. Would I still be able to enter?
We’re afraid not, sorry! This competition is open to students studying in local institutions only.
Regards,
Zhi Xin
Vice President of NUS Literary Society
Awww…:(
Thanks, though.
Hmm I apologise, I’ve made a mistake — you can participate in our CWC if you have a local address. Sorry about that!
Hello,
just wondering, if i just orded in september and have yet to got in a university, would i be able to enter?
jonathan
Yes, there should be no problems with accepting you. We will place you under the “Currently Serving National Service” category.
Have you applied for study in a local university?

Oh my… there is no category of play this year =(
Plus
@ZhiXin
“The competition is open to students from pre-university (e.g. junior colleges, polytechnics, centralised institutions), tertiary institutions, and those serving NS. Students who are studying in overseas universities and wish to participate must be stationed in or have a permanent address in Singapore for at least the next one year.”
It is okay if students studying in overseas universities want to participate isn’t it? At least from the entry form… Just that they must have a perm address in Singapore…
Lastly the word limit is just a guide line right? According to old replies regarding the rules. The entry would be accepted for short story as long as I don’t write a long novel right?
With regards to the word limit, I suppose we won’t be too strict if you exceed it by a couple of hundred of words, but if it exceeds by too many words very obviously it might decrease your chances of winning a prize since we have to factor in fairness to the other competition pieces as well. Yep.
Hi,
i’ve yet to apply for a university as im a poly grad and my enrollment time only start next year
jonathan
Dear Jonathan,
It shouldn’t be a problem for you to participate if you’re intending to join a local university.

Hello, I just thought of this, will we be receiving a confirmation email to inform us that our submission has been received/accepted similar to those that were sent for the previous 2 years… (got those in Dec last time but of course the dateline was like 2 weeks later this time round)
Yes, a confirmation e-mail will be sent out to all participants confirming our receipt of the entries. It should be sent out latest by this Friday, 13 Jan 2012.
We apologize for the delay. Thank you for your patience.

Loh Soon Hui
